The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees invites applications from qualified candidates for the post of:
1- Vacancy No. : 042/2016/X
2- Duty Station : Field Office Jerusalem
3- Department : Education Department
4- Basic Salary : 1,105.0 JD that varies in accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency & the candidate qualifications. Other fringe benefits include provident fund & health insurance.
5- Allowances : Family Allowances payable up to 7 children and spouse. An allowance of 1000 NIS payable in JD at UNRWA rate 25% of the basic salary as Senior Professional Officer Allowance
6- Qualifications:
- A university degree in a school related subject plus higher diploma or one year professional teacher training, or
- Advanced university degree in quality assurance, management or school related subject.
- At least six years of relevant professional experience of which at least two years as a teacher /instructor/ or as trainer on issue relevant to education and a minimum of four years’ experience in an administrative/managerial/ supervisory capacity.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

- Ability to create suitable evaluation tools and use proper synthesis skills to make recommendations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in a team working environment while leading and managing their work effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proven research, problem solving and decision making skills in a teaching/learning context.
- Ability to evaluate the work of others and offer constructive criticism when necessary.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and positive classroom and school learning environment.
- Commitment to professional growth and development including self-reflection.
- Proficiency in standard Agency computer applications
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- A PhD degree in a related subject particularly in School Quality Assurance/Monitoring and Evaluation or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of research in quality assurance procedures, practices.
